Airtel Value Added Services(VAS) - Start Stop & Info Guide
Airtel provides its customers with a long list of services, which increase the use of SIM and network by just messaging, calling and Internet browsing. These are value-added services, and Airtel recently launched a service called "Airtel StartStop Service" that helps activate and deactivate the value-added service. This service can be done by sending an SMS to the toll free number 121.

Job Alert
This is a job alert service for mobiles. Jobs are based on your profile and receive daily job alerts. Jobs powered by Naukri.com, Monster.com & clickjob.com. It is priced at Rs. 5 for 5 days. To activate, you must dial * 321 * 661 #
Astrology on Demand (Kundali)
This portal is where a customer can listen to predictions and listen to almanacs based on their birth chart. It is priced at Rs. 30 per month, and you get horoscope via SMS daily. To activate, you must dial 54314.

Airtel Radio

Friends Chat
- Friends Chat helps you chat with people you know a little about, and you can make new friends. You get registered with a 2 digit ID, and for this you have to call 51010. The fee for Friend Chat is Rs. 30 per month, and the call fee for membership is Rs. 2 per minute.

Cricket packs come in different schemes and when different tournaments are happening. And you will be informed about this by Airtel, and there is no specific subscription option for that.

Download the latest jokes from your Airtel menu. Choose from a variety of jokes on offer — such as office jokes, spouse, college jokes and jokes at random. Pricing varies from Rs. More than 1 per day depending on packages.

Live Aarti on Mobile
You can listen to Live Aarti sung in 2 Tirthas - Tirupati and Siddhivinayak. The fee for this is Rs. 5 per aarti, at any one shrine. The cost increases from the fold with the counting of pilgrimages and aartis. You can subscribe to this service by dialing the toll free number 55200.Astro Live

This is a special service where some qualified astrologers tell you about their present and future about love, money, career, property, children etc. 9 per minute.
Special 5
Using this service, you can connect with the 5 closest friends you call the most often. Instead of the normal call fee, the local call charge for these numbers is 20 paise per minute, and the STD is 50 paise per minute. But to use this service, if it is a local one or STD number, it will be charged 20 PS per number per day, if it is a local one or 50 PS per number per day. In this you can call 543212 and speak your request and search. You can download ringtones, dedicate songs, view cricket scores and more. The calling fee on this services is Rs. 6 per minute.
Other value-added services by Airtel include Love Bites, Beauty Tips, Good Morning Alerts, Friendship Messages, Film Gossip, Stock Alerts, Love Tips, Bharat Matrimony (WAP) and Portfolio Manager (WAP).
Mobile Number Portability
Another service that every network has recently got a chance to attract customers is mobile number portability. Using this, you can maintain the same phone number as you are using, but you can transfer between network providers if you want. How to shift to Airtel with mobile number portability facility -
First of all, you have to generate unique porting code i.e. UPC. This can be done by sending an SMS as "PORT MOBILENO". Such as "PORT 922xxxx22x" by 1900. UPC is the code that is provided by the network provider to help port the number to any other network operator upon request where this code is recognized by both network operators.
Once you send the SMS, you get the UPC code in 8 digit format, along with the expiry date of the code which comes in MM / DD / YYYY format. You can use that code within that time to make any changes between network operators.
Now, after getting the code, you have to go to your nearest Airtel outlet and fill a form for MNP. The details to be filled include current mobile number, current operator name and UPC code.
If you are running on a postpaid plan then you will have to submit the last bill of address proof, ID proof document, self attested photo and postpaid connection along with MNP form.
Buy an Airtel MNP SIM card from the outlet of Airtel, and once you are done with it, Airtel will send you an SMS on your previous SIM number stating an approximate date through which you will transfer the Airtel from another network provider and how long. Maybe you can continue using the current operator.
During the porting process, the SIM will enter a 2-hour no-service period, typically between 12 pm and 5 am when phone activity is at a minimum. Once you go through a no-service period, it is confirmed that MNP is done and you can start using the new SIM with the same number on the Airtel network.
Value Added Service (VAS) Membership
Start-stop service by Airtel is the place where you can subscribe or unsubscribe from Airtel's value-added services. Airtel customers can SMS 'Start' or can stop at 121 (toll free). An SMS is sent acknowledging the customer's request and advises them of the next step. If the customer sends 'Start' to 121, the service checks for all subscription services not subscribed by the customer and presents those services through an easy-to-understand and interactive menu.
Also, when Airtel sends you a promotional SMS about their VAS, you need to have different phone numbers to activate that particular service directly, instead of browsing through the entire list and searching for the one you wanted to subscribe to.
